• Full Tuition Fee Coverage – complete waiver of course fees for the duration of study.


• Living Allowance (Stipend) – around AUD 30,000–37,000 per year (depending on scholarship type) to cover daily expenses.

• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – full medical insurance for international students.


• Research Support – additional funds for research costs, books, and study materials.

• Master’s by Research – up to 2 years


• Doctoral (PhD) – up to 3.5 to 4 years

• Open to Domestic (Australian citizens, permanent residents, NZ citizens) and International students from any country.


• Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree with strong academic results (normally First Class Honours or equivalent).


• For PhD programs, applicants should hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification with a significant research component.


• Students applying for research scholarships are usually required to submit a research proposal aligned with Monash’s research priorities.


• In some cases, having a potential supervisor’s support strengthens the application.

Non-native English speakers must meet Monash’s English language requirements:

• IELTS: 6.5 overall (no band less than 6.0)


• TOEFL (iBT): 79+ (Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 12)


• PTE Academic: 58+ (no communicative skill less than 50)
