ETH Zurich invites outstanding Master’s applicants from around the world to apply for the prestigious Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) 2025. This programme provides full financial support by covering both tuition fees and living costs for the entire duration of the Master’s degree. In addition, recipients benefit from mentorship opportunities and gain access to an exclusive network through the ETH Foundation.

The application window for the 2025 intake will be open from November 1 to November 30, 2025 (11:59 PM MEZ). This is your chance to study at one of the world’s leading universities with all the support you need to excel.

The scholarship covers the full study and living costs during the Master’s degree course.

1.  CHF 12,000 per semester to cover living and study expenses 


2.  Full tuition fee waiver for the entire duration of the Master’s program


3. Valid for 3 or 4 semesters, depending on program length


4. Only ETH Bachelor students may begin the ESOP while on a leave of absence

• Applicants must have achieved excellent academic results in their Bachelor’s degree, typically ranking within the top 10% of their class (equivalent to a grade A).


• It is also important to ensure that you can be reached through the phone number provided in your CV, as the selection process may involve a telephone or video interview in February.

Please note that students who are already enrolled in a Master’s programme at ETH Zurich, or those who have previously obtained a Master’s degree, are not eligible to apply for the ESOP.

ESOP applications must be submitted through eApply (the online Master’s application system). This also applies to ETH Bachelor students applying for a consecutive Master’s program.
